Coyote Gulch Demonstration Plant
Solix BioSystems' demonstration plant is located at Coyote Gulch in southwestern Colorado.

Our Coyote Gulch AGSTM Demonstration Plant is the first of its kind anywhere in the world. It is located in southwestern Colorado near the city of Durango on land provided by our partner, the Southern Ute Alternative Energy Fund. It has three algae cultivation basins totaling 3/4 of an acre (0.3 hectares). The plant has over 150,000 liters of algae under cultivation.
The Coyote Gulch Demonstration Plant, which incorporates our LumianTM AGSTM technology, uses waste water generated during coal-bed methane production thus reducing the need for fresh water. We also use the CO2 produced by the adjacent amine scrubbing plant by capturing and redirecting it through our Lumian panels to feed the microalgae. Solix converts the algae biomass produced at this facility to oil and residual biomass for sale and product development.
