Our Technology

Solix’s AGSTM Technology is cost-effective, adaptive and scalable.

Solix Biofuels' AGS is a massively scalable algal production system designed to enable the industrialization of algae at scales suitable for large volumetric production of biocrude in volumes needed for cost competitive biofuel and chemical production.

At the center of our cutting-edge AGSTM Technology is Solix Biofuels' proprietary photobioreactors that have demonstrated volumetric productivities ten times greater than open pond systems.

The photobioreactor design
provides three critically important features:

  •  controlled conditions and CO2
supplementation facilitating maximum growth rates and biocrude yields
  • protection from airborne and animal-vectored
    contamination
  • maximum rates of volumetric expansion of seed
cultures from a few gallons to thousands of acre-feet to facilitate start-up,
restarts, and seasonal algal crop rotations.

Designed to enable optimum illumination levels, the photobioreactors allow for much greater the surface level exposure to sunlight compared with open-pond systems. Controlled turbulence within the chamber circulates the algae to maximize photosynthetic activity, leading to higher yields of algae growth.
